Time for blogging, and when?

Jun 19, 2014

To blog or not to blog...to blog of course! But when? For me I can only ever think about looking at my computer when my children are asleep. So for the most part I blog after I put the kids to bed, after I clean up the tubs of legos, baskets of dinosaurs, collect all bowls and cups from under the furniture, check the washers to make sure I put the clothes I already rewashed into the dryer, grab a handful of chocolate, and open my computer! This isn't to say that I don't attempt a blogging peek-a-boo during the day, but that rarely ever works out.

I have zero schedule when it comes to blogging, such a bad "blogger". I usually have an idea of what I want to talk about, and I am totally a victim of having multiple drafts goin on. But I have a mommy brain to the fullest, so when I do have an idea I need to jot that down before my train of thought goes back to referee mode. I do however wake up before my children in order to drink some coffee, possibly get a glimpse of my husband (rare sighting), and I use that time to answer emails and reply to comments as well. During the day I utilize the many forms of social media, but who am I kidding I love me some insta-to the-gram!

I think just about everyone that has a blog has to make time to blog. I am sure there are plenty of other things I could be doing with my precious alone time (dishes anyone?), but I choose this little space. I truly enjoy this platform as a creative outlet. I was and still am very much a reader of so many blogs. So I enjoy this blogging community, the opportunities it has presented, and the actual friends I have made from this tiny corner of the world wide web.

When in doubt...blog it out that's what I say. Okay, I have never said that before but its catchy right?

When do you blog? If you wrote a post about it get to linkin my friend!

  1. i can always find time to blog. it's all of the stuff behind the scenes, like emails and visiting other blogs that take up the majority of my time.

  2. I'm a random blogger. Some weeks, I'll have a blog post every day...some, I'll go days without blogging, and people start asking me if I'm still blogging. lol. It's tough...kids are so unpredictable!

  3. I have to blog once the baby's in bed too. Otherwise, I end up with sticky toddler fingers all over my computer and a subsequent meltdown over not allowing him to bang on it with a golf club or something. Ugh! :)

  6. Our lives are so similar lol. Describing your cleaning at the end of the day reminding me of my life every single night. I always blog after the kids are in bed too, for sure. Can't hold a thought for longer than 2 seconds when they're awake!

  7. It's so hard to make time, isn't? Sometimes it just feels so good to just sit down and get all your feelings out, though. It's such a relief for me sometimes. Blogging is such a blessing! :) I wish i had time to do it more often.

  8. Blog it out. I love that! I normally do any and all blogging when the kids are in bed yes. But my phone and I are buddies all the live long day. Whoops.

  9. I used to do most of my blogging in the morning before work, because I worked afternoons. Now that I work the day shift, sometimes by the time I get home at night I don't feel like blogging... so, I just don't - instead, I just read other people's blogs. After a few days I usually get the itch again. :)
