Fall Fashion Trends

Sep 22, 2014

To be honest, I have been holding on to this post for far too long, just waiting for the official first day of fall. Well today is that day! Every season I get excited for new trends and how I can make them wearable for my uber fashionable mom life. Here are my favorites and some of the items I have my eye on or have already purchased.

Fun Fur- I love the excitement of a new fur (faux fur) no need to call PETA on me! This season furs are coming in all different colors and patterns. They really jazz up a simple outfit, which I am all about.

Shearling Coats- This might be my favorite trend. Last year I bought a shearing and leather coat and it is still my absolute fav. The one pictured above is Burberry, anyone know how much a kidney is going for on the black market? That coat is everything! But way out of my price range, so below are some others I am liking.

Wrap Coats- Clearly everyone does not need a ton of coat options, but since moving to Alaska I have the need for options. Long, short, puffy, leather, just coats and jackets in all varieties.

60's Mod- This is one trend that I love and wish I could take advantage of more. I would love to be sporting cute shift dresses with tall over the knee boots, but we will see how forgiving the Alaskan cold is to me this year.

Over the Knee Boots- When I think of fall I automatically think of tall boots. I have a leather pair that  I have already pulled out, but I am on the hunt for a suede pair as well.

Wide Leg Pants- So happy this trend is going to continue. I love a good high waisted wide leg pant. I bought the Asos ones pictured above over the summer and cannot say enough about them. We all need a break from our skinny jeans every now and then.

Turtlenecks- Another fall staple! I happen to be a lover of turtlenecks, maybe even a collector of sorts. But this season I have seen so many different silhouettes attached to that neck warming extra fabric.

Pop of Color- It may be fall, but don't put away those summer hues just yet. Pops of color can be seen everywhere. Sweaters is vibrant reds, lavender, lots of pastels floating around, and neon is even sticking around through the cold.

What are some trends you are excited for?

  1. I love your fashion posts because you're a mom AND you keep up with fashion, so I know your fashion choices will still be wearable while toting around the rugrats! Omg, I would definitely sell a kidney for that Burberry coat, sooooooo cute! I also love the pops of color, sometimes fall apparel can be so blah.

  2. Excellent list as usual! I can get away with like two coats but yeah I'd wager you would need a ton. Hear that Chris? NEED.

  7. This is the hundredth blog I've seen with wardrobes ready for Fall... and it's all so darling and fun and unachievable for my Arizona planted roots. I really wish I lived somewhere cold! Arizona's Summer clearly hasn't got the message that it's Fall and it can go away now. :-\

    1. Oh trust me I get it! I grew up in Vegas, and we were stationed in AZ for three years! I didn't even own a jacket before moving to Alaska. It took me a year to embrace the cold weather, and I like the transition to fall but not a huge fan of all things winter. I am a warm weather lover at heart :)

  8. Love everything. I am really into flowy turtlenecks for the fall/winter. Perfect for a growing belly! I've had my eye on that mustard one from Forever21 for a few weeks now. Do you happen to own it? I'm wondering about the fit.

Sorry if I sent this twice. My computer is going crazy. :)

    1. I did buy that turtleneck and I love it, I got it in mustard and black. I ordered a medium just to give it some more slouch. I am normally a small. But it is great, totally get it!

  9. Don't even with the italicized fashionable mom thing... You so are!
I'm a fan of the shearling. Not that I've ever needed to own a jacket like that.
