Odette! I am completely beside myself that a year has gone by this fast. I know we all say how we feel like we just had them. But really, I feel like I just brought her home. She is just such a dream baby. And I would love if we could just keep her at this stage right here. So, let's see where we are at with this little love.
She is pretty much done breastfeeding, her choice, not mine. I guess she just wants to be like her older siblings, and eat at the table. She has yet to meet a food she doesn't like, and this includes Caspian's food (so gross). The kids have mastered the art of "helping to feed the baby" in order to clear their plates. She doesn't mind being a pawn in their little game though. She is still such a peanut! Her one year visit is in a couple weeks, so I don't know her exact stats, but she can easily still fit into her nine month outfits. Which is so funny when you see this little baby barrel through the house chasing after the dog. She started walking at nine months, just like all the children in this family before her.
She can hold her own in a house full of crazies. You'll think twice if you ever grab a toy from her. Expect her to head butt you, or bite you. But if the kids yell at her she is sure the turn on the water works and make them feel extra bad. Then she will run off with whatever she wants.
She really is so sweet though. She loves to give kisses. Her favorite word is "ma-ma". She says da-da, buh ba (bye bye), iss iss (kiss, kiss), hiii, and nah-nah (night night). Still rockin only four teeth, but I am thinking she is getting ready to bust out a few more based on her restless nights. She still sleeps with us, and I don't have any desire to change that. I will soak up all the baby-ness I can.
Even though I feel like this year has gone by far too quickly for my liking, I feel like she has always been here. She is the perfect piece to this family's puzzle, and I cannot wait to celebrate her all day. Or all week...I mean who knows.
We love you Odette Helena, Happy Birthday!
