perverse sunglasses- pardon my french
Oh, I could not be happier that it is FRIDAY! A huge reason being, Chris is off today (!!!!) and he has promised to give himself a break, which gives me a break, which just makes us all happy. This week was intense for a variety of reasons. Starting with our mornings. Ace will always be my difficult  headstrong child. He is well beyond his years in the sarcasm department, and thee-- I know exactly how to push your buttons by saying exactly this thing and then laughing on the inside when you explode. I thought at least he wouldn't perfect these skills until he was married.  Everything is a fight from how he wants to style his hair, to which order he would like to do things....breakfast, teeth brushing, getting dressed....whatever. My mom tells me that Ace acts exactly like my older brother, which doesn't help me at all.

Also this week Odette's contact dermatitis decided to throw me for a real loop. Girl has worn the same brand of diapers since birth, never a reaction. She has had reactions to other diapers, so we know which ones we must have at all times, even if Target is sold out of her size, they must be found. Well, this week she broke out in a rash, which at first I thought was diaper rash, but then it just got angrier. Diaper rash creams are an absolute no on her skin, they are much too harsh and have way too many chemicals. Per her pediatrician we have always just used lotion. When that wasn't working, and the poor little thing was so uncomfortable day and night I just said the hell with diapers and she was running around in her birthday suit. Things seemed to clear up so I thought its got to be the diapers. I bought hypoallergenic diapers and we seem to be okay the last 24 hrs.

On to my skin lately, and it has just been dull and dry. I know a lot of it has to do with the amount of water I am not taking in. I always think I am good about drinking water throughout the day, but my skin really tells the truth. No amount of moisturizer will help. So I have been setting out water bottles on the counter, and making sure that I drink them all throughout the day. But that doesn't stop me from wanting to try a few new products as well. Particularly, this honey mask, followed by this moisturizing salve, and has anyone tried this concealer? I'll report back soon.

And finally, I come to you my dear friends. I am on the last season of The Sopranos, which I will probably finish this weekend. All my other fav shows are not returning for awhile so I figure now is the time to put down the TV remote and pick up a book or two. I always complained that I would buy books and never get to read them because kids and being tired and the laundry list of excuses goes on. But now that we have zero children sharing our bed, I am not breastfeeding, and we have locked in a nightly routine. My evenings are mine again (Chris isn't included since he is more like a roommate right now, is it okay to sleep with your roommate? Yea, that's totally fine). So what are you reading right now? Did you just finish a book that you love? I have consulted this list complied by Grace, and I have a couple in my Amazon cart, but what say you?

Anyways, go forth and have a great weekend!
