The first coat I bought when we moved to Alaska was this animal print number. Well, that is not entirely true. Chris bought me a more practical down jacket because he is smart. But, I was not so keen on Alaska at this point, and all I wanted to do was feel like myself in a place that felt very far from that. So I bought this coat. And still to this day it is one of my favorites. So you can imagine my joy as I am killing time online shopping, and seeing so many of these coats all around. They will be, next to velvet, one of the best accessories you can have for fall/winter. Leopard is back baby! It never really left my closet, but it's in good company now.
Not that I ever need a trend to determine my outfit choices, but I mean, this is just a good piece to have in your closet.
So, for the sheer sake of a blog post. I pulled this baby out prematurely and threw it on for 7.8 seconds in 95 degrees with 50% humidity. Because this outfit will easily be one that I will wear in the fall. For now, we go coat-less. Which I cannot complain about. I feel like I am my best self in the summer. Do you ever feel like that? Like I NEED sunshine and warmth. I need it like I need creamer in my coffee.
I know everyone is rushing to the fall finish line here. But not I. Which I guess is a fantastic thing given that we live in the south, and will stay here through the winter. What will a winter be like without salting my driveway, or shoveling the van out of snow before school? WHAT WILL THAT BE LIKE? It will be wonderful is what it will be.
Chris keeps joking that our next moving destination should be determined very soon, and that I very well could find myself in another cold place. And I keep threatening him with divorce.
KIDDING! I'm kidding. Clearly he has no say in where we move next.
But we all know, happy wife, happy life. And this wife likes it HOT!
I rounded up some leopard coats for you as well:
