How much do you love a Monday disguised as a Sunday? Almost as much as you love a Friday right? Well, that's how I feel about it.

We packed a lot into the weekend so far, and today we have a few more plans. All revolving around soaking up that family time. We went on a hike on Saturday, and the kids instantly felt in their element. We haven't hiked since our road trip from Alaska, and it felt so good. In Alaska we had a long list of hikes that we wanted to do, and it seemed like every weekend we were crossing one of them off. Georgia does not have much in the way of hiking, or maybe we are just spoiled brats now. Thank you Alaska.

We currently have the camping bug, hardcore! But all the places we want to camp are a little bit further than our weekends currently allow. Maybe over the holiday breaks a camping adventure will come to fruition. But for now, we have an acre of private woods that we happen to call our backyard. Chris decided he would build a fire pit, and that the kids camping bug could be remedied in our own forest. So the fire pit is in full construction, and everyone is happy.

We also made it out for brunch yesterday, before heading to a field close to our house to play a family baseball game. It was all fun and games in the blazing heat, until the bugs made us wave our white flag and hightail it home. I was able to get away with a sweater in the semi early morning hours, then I had to change that all up. I love that the lace up trend has carried on for another year, because this sweater is one of my favorites. Dress it up, dress it down, pretend it's fall, whatever you gotta do!

I hope you all have had a great weekend!!

  2. I wish I looked as good in jean shorts as you do! I really like the mix of oversized sweater and tighter bottoms. You look so good, as always!!

  3. Look at you guys making your own backyard a camping-type playground! So smart. I love having a fire pit out back! The only downside is the kids asking daily for a fire. I'm not the fun parent.
