the unexpected

 Faux Fur Snood
Happy Monday! It is the start of our Christmas break, so a happy Monday it is indeed! No alarm to wake me up, which didn't stop me from getting up ten minutes after my normal alarm routine. But you can't put a price on a hot cup of coffee in peace right?

How was your weekend?

Ours could probably be summed up by all the movies we watched. Chris took the boys to see the new Star Wars movie on Friday, which they were overly excited about. I was a little weary of it all, but I guess they did great, and Chris said it was fantastic. We also watched Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which might now be my favorite kids movie, right next to Pete's Dragon which we also watched this weekend as well. Totally recommend them!

Saturday I dedicated to do some Christmas shopping. I placed a very large Amazon order, and finished up with a run to Target and Toys R Us. I think I am about done. Every year I say I will not leave it to the last minute, but I do my best shopping under pressure. The whole hiding the deliveries and wrapping the presents should be an interesting task.

Also interesting is ways I find to wear a faux fur snood! I love to rework pieces in my closet, it is something I found so fun when I did merchandising. Styling a mannequin in an unexpected way to show how one piece can be worn in so many different ways. It is basically how I justify cost in my mind. How many ways can I style this? Is it out of the box? Not too much for me. I think Chris has come to expect the unexpected when it comes to my fashion choices.

  4. We have been wanting to watch those two movies as well! Good to know! I don't even use different wrapping paper from "santa". My kids don't notice. Although this may be the year haha so deliveries coming goes right over their heads.

  5. I really liked Pete's Dragon, but I haven't seen the Home for Peculiar Children movie--my sisters told me it might be a bit scary for my tastes!
