field trips, floral pants, and farmers markets

Floral Pants
Well, summer decided to show up over the weekend in the form of humidity. I tend to forget about that side of living in the south. When we lived in Alaska I just couldn't wait to get back to the heat, and then you add in the humidity and you are like....wait wait....do I really sweat this much? Why are my pants sticking to me? But of course I will take being hot over cold any day.

My weekend started on Friday when I joined Ace's class to see Disney on Ice. I am so thankful that Chris was off for this occasion because I am the insane paranoid mom that thinks of every what if situation and then ruin children's lives. So I am happy I was able to tag along. I am not so sure Ace was thrilled about it. He knows how embarrassing I am on a regular basis, now you stick me with a bunch of first graders and Disney music and things just get weird. I did make Ace a promise that I would do my best not to embarrass him, but when Let It Go started playing all bets were off. Thankfully his teacher was singing along with me. Ace gave me the death stare. I enjoy seeing my child in the wild though. Seven year olds are a handful, and they have no filter with the questions that they ask. I wish I would have recorded our conversations, but that was one of Ace's requests as well....no phone mom. I aim to please.

Moving on to these pants. I can't say I normally gravitate to floral pants, but the loud print on these was just too good to pass up. Obviously you could dress them down with a white button up, or simple silk cami. But I wanted to have more fun with them and pair them with a graphic tee and these bow heels that I cannot get enough of right now.

The weekend led us to the farmers market, and downtown coffee runs in-between cleaning up the house. Well, I should say Chris cleaned. While he was tackling three out of five bathrooms in the house, I played some indoor capture the flag and softball with the kids. Empty rooms are my best friends! Bathrooms are not.

How was your weekend?

  6. Those pants - LOVE! Such a fun print! I hear ya on the humidity, it seems to have kicked back in over the weekend. But I will take the southern heat and humidity any day over the frigid and gray winters I grew up with in the northeast. Have a fabulous week <3
